is benchmarking alive in the uk?

if it cant be done, might it be worth using trig points instead... (in case they dont exist in america, they are used for mapping the country. normally concrete pillars with a metal bolt hole in the middle of a plate on top. normally somewhere with a good view.)

I imagine your concrete pillars are the equivalent of our tri-stations, which were also set using trigonometry.
