Field Note Issue - Dates not correct

We have just returned from a few days caching and I uploaded my field notes from our Oregon 300 into Firefox and started logging. About 20 logs in I noticed that they had the wrong date on them. I have gone back and checked all my other logs this week and they are fine but today's just don't want to work.

 

I have looked at the field notes page and the logs show the correct local time. Has something changed on the page that is affecting this?

I've been having the same problem now for a couple of weeks. The date is off by a day.

We have a bug on file for this and it should be fixed in the next release.

Oregon captures field notes in GMT (UTC).

 

In the summary display, field notes are shown by local time (adjusted according to your time zone setting).

 

When you click "Compose Log", the date is ALWAYS the GMT date.

 

The solution is : in Newcastle, Australia, don't cache before 10 a.m., and in Texas, don't cache after 7 p.m.

 

If you want to edit the Field Notes file yourself, be aware that the file is in UCS-2 Little Endian (two bytes per character, lower order byte first, two byte header in the beginning of the file 0xff 0xfe). You can use Notepad++ for Windows machines and set the encoding to the right format.
