+J the Goat
This may be an old topic, but as I don't have the patience to sift through hundreds of old pages, here it goes. How often are new caches posted in your area? I know everyone's "area" is a different size, so use your own area for the answer. I'm just curious if locally we're more stagnant than most other places of vice-versa. We get maybe 2 or 3 new caches a month on average, depending on who gets a wild hair and drops a few at a time. I have ntifications set up for a 20 mile radius. We get caches published just about every day. Quote Link to comment
+simpjkee
My notification is a 15 mile radius and I get on average about 2 per day. Quote Link to comment
+TheAlabamaRambler
Very few days that I don't get several new listing notifications. Quote Link to comment
+Triskeles
If I remember correctly, I've got a 10-mile radius. We get one or two a week, on average. Sometimes more, sometimes less. We've been planting our first caches, so the we're included in that now!! Quote Link to comment
+Cherokee Bill
Central VA, 1 - 2 per month! Hope with the better weather & DLST things will pickup Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Sometimes we get 10-15 a month. Sometimes we go 6 months with zero. Depends. Quote Link to comment
+Moose Mob
Usually we get 20-30 per week around Las Vegas. Except for one spurt of 610 caches that sprung up one day - most of which were just over the California Border. Quote Link to comment
+WatchDog2020
Maybe one a week. Every once in a while a new cacher loads his cache placement shotgun and fires at every lamp post he can find. Quote Link to comment

I could just imagine it going off that many times. Quote Link to comment
+Casting Crowns
My area is pretty large (D/FW) so I get notifications daily. I have my radius set up for 30 miles. I don't always go for them.....I like reading them too! Quote Link to comment
oakenwood
Not many. This area is a cache dead spot. DC's just as bad. It's better across the river in Virginia, but that's too far for me. For some reason, caching just hasn't caught on around here. Not like the west coast, anyways. Quote Link to comment
+FancoverFive
Maybe 1-3 a week, within 15 miles. Quote Link to comment
+Bergie Bunch
20 mile notification, 3-4 a week Quote Link to comment
+dorothy&scarecrow
i think besides mine i just published a few weeks ago, it's been years. the last one in my hometown was set up in 08. we need someone to hide some more! Quote Link to comment

GermanSailor
Every time I'm away from home for a week or so a couple of new caches get published. GermanSailor Quote Link to comment
aniyn
1 a month seems average. Pretty dull here Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I have notifications set up for multis and traditionals within 20 miles. I usually see between 2 and 10 a day being published. Quote Link to comment
+Vater_Araignee
when I had mine set at 25 miles my box got inundated in the spring. Ya know all thos lamposts get plowed under in the city, so they are just re enabled. In my 10 mile,in 09, 0.8 a month. 2 year average 0.75 a month. Quote Link to comment
+atmospherium
Locally, within say 15 miles, only 3 have been placed since last fall, and all 3 are mine. In my 30 mile notification radius almost all new caches are placed in the suburbia that starts about 25 miles SW of me. Maybe 10 new caches a month in good weather. Of course, the entire North half of that 30 mile radius is Lake Ontario. Not too many caches being placed out there in the cold depths. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Location does have a big bearing on it. Lotsa deep snow = few during winter. Nothing but private land around, I would imagine a mix of many to few. We are on the south shore of Lake Superior. Needless to say, that eats heartily into our caching "radius". It seems to get few placements year-round! Quote Link to comment
+Firefly911
We've been getting 10-15 a week in a 10 mile radius. Quote Link to comment
+owlsent
My notifications are set up for 50 miles and only for about 2 weeks. I've gotten 2 notifications. Both in the 40 mile range. Quote Link to comment
+Opalblade
I'm in the Austin suburbs with a 15 mile radius. This time of year I'm usallly seeing anywhere from 1 to 3 most days of the week, but not all Quote Link to comment
+Pat in Louisiana
Baton Rouge my rad. is 100 Miles Get about 10-15 a week Quote Link to comment
+joukkusisu
St.Paul, MN suburb, with a ten mile radius, on average about 2-3 a day. They put them out faster than we can find them. Quote Link to comment
+DaysJourney
We live just outside of Seattle, with a search range of 15 miles and get about 3-5 or more a day. Its kind of like comparing apples and oranges though, if you think about it. Obviously in places like northern Illinois in February, you're going to be doing a lot less caching than someone in say, Los Angeles. I do have to mention that we got 43 all at once last Sunday. Took about five minutes to get them all on my phone. It was a series of puzzle caches released for GeoWoodstock VIII. Here's the link for anyone interested: Peacemaker's Series (full) Quote Link to comment
+Team Hurley
Here in Auburn, AL, which is just East of Montgomery, AL and Northwest of Columbus, GA, with a 25 mile radius, I bet we get 5-10 a month average. I am sure that if I expanded my radius to clip those two larger areas, it would increase, but I would rather just pull PQ's when I know we are going caching in those areas. By the time we got there, the FTF would be long gone. Edited March 24, 2010 by Team Hurley Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Sometimes we get 10-15 a month. Sometimes we go 6 months with zero. Depends. ....thought that I would note I mean a full 50 mile radius of home. Quote Link to comment
