map 60csx help

anyone know how access tide data for garmin gps map 60csx? It does not show how in the owners manual but, the discription says it can. I have tried without sucess.

A little help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

You might have to load the tide data, here's the US tidepoints: LINK

Not sure you would have these on a 60. On my 76 I can 'pan to coast, / find / marine points / tide station / select one from the list'. Tide stations for the US is built-in; Garmin did have a file on there website which included tide stations for some or all of Canada.

I didn't know these were part of the unit's software (at least they aren't in the eTrex line). I posted the link to Garmin's US Tide charts that will work with MapSource in my first response.

Garmin advertises that the map 60csx is pre loaded with - tide data - but the specs show that it will not recieve - tide charts -???

E mailed garmin to have them explain it

Garmin tech support sent my tide data for the Map 60csx this morning. Just finished loading it up.

Seems the data was left out of the newer models. But, its in there now!

What exactly did they send you? A software update of some type or a gmapsupp.img file to place on your datacard?

 

I was under the impression that the data was on the datacard that came with the unit as a transparent map file. If so, this would get overwritten by sending new maps to the unit. At least this is how it works with the eTrex units, except that they don't come with the data loaded as they don't come with a datacard.
