+ehgeospy
If you and a geofriend hide a cache together, how do you both get credit for the hide? Only the first person listed gets credit? Quote Link to comment
GOF and Bacall
Yes, it can only be listed under one account. Quote Link to comment
+simpjkee
The cache will only get listed under one account. However, when you set up a cache page, there is an option that says "Who placed the cache". In that spot, you can write "Cacher A and Cacher B". Quote Link to comment
+DarkZen
Ultimately, it will have to be listed under one account only. However when setting up the cache page you can change the default 'hidden by' to all of you. Quote Link to comment
+narcissa
On the cache page, you can write in the names of both cachers, but the cache only shows up under the cacher who submits it for review. Around here it's customary for cachers to log a find (but not FTF) on a cache if they helped place it. Quote Link to comment

Around here it's customary for cachers to log a find (but not FTF) on a cache if they helped place it. In the California and Nevada desert, it's customary to log finds on 600 micros, if you helped place them. But I'll echo what everyone else has said, you can alter the "who placed this cache" field to say anything you want (with a character limit, of course). I change it to goofy stuff all the time on my caches. Quote Link to comment
+TheAlabamaRambler
If the same group such as a family or a team of friends will be hiding caches together you can create a 'team account'. For example Mary Jo Elizabeth, Billy Bob, Skeeter and Sue Ellen cache together regularly and want to list caches as a group effort. Create an account called, say, Redneck Racers. That account will have your contact email but can have a profile explaining that Mary Jo Elizabeth, Billy Bob, Skeeter and Sue Ellen comprise the Redneck Racers team. Then when you hide a cache list it under the Redneck Racers account but on the cache listing you can put whatever you want... the team name or each individual's, it doesn't matter... it is only the account that is logged in and creating the listing that Groundspeak holds accountable, not who is listed in the 'hidden by' field. Of course your question was 'who gets the credit' and in that case none of you would... it would show up as a Redneck Racers hide. Quote Link to comment
+dfx
personally i don't agree with logging a "find" on a cache that you helped place, because it just isn't true. yeah you don't get a +1 point in any of your stats if you "just" helped, but hey, it's not all about the numbers, right? +The VanDucks
If you hide a cache (with yourself as the owner) with the help of another cacher, do you have the other cacher put the cache on a watch list so they can keep track of when it's been found? I ask because I'm thinking of placing a cache near our daughter's house, which is about 125 miles away from our home, and having her do any simple maintenance on it. (We do visit her often, but I can't easily drive by to replace a log!) Quote Link to comment

Oh-oh. I just cracked one little joke. Personally, I would ignore caches I helped place. Well, I've never done it, but I have hidden caches with a sock puppet account, and I ignore them, but have them on my watchlist. Quote Link to comment

Then don't do it. Why does it matter to you if other people do? it doesn't. i just find it silly. am i not allowed to have an opinion? Edited March 15, 2010 by dfx Quote Link to comment
