It was great to see so many new forum members posting here too, I would ask them to continue contributing and offering their opinions and comments to the geocoin forum. I hope you all had as much fun as I did playing and reading the posts.

 

Secondly, and for the big moment you have all been waiting to read...out of 91 poker hands dealt and played, the highest winning hand was: A STRAIGHT FROM 3 TO 7 and the player who held this hand was: "SgtMikal" (post #62)

Lastly, for all you other players that did not win, please do not dispair. As promised, I will now have a consolation cointest poker game for all of you to play again. This cointest will be a bit different and much more challenging, so you will have to earn this win! You will need your thinking caps, and powers of deductive reasoning along with sleuth skill and a little bit of luck! Are you ready for the challenge?! Okay, the clock has begun ticking and time is of the essence, so without any further ado...

 

HERE ARE THE CONSOLATION COINTEST POKER RULES:

 

Before I reveal all of the 52 playing card identities, I am going to post the players' numbers selected list, along with a few details of additional information facts, or clues (see below). Using these factual clues as an aide, your task is to figure out the identity of as many mystery cards as you can, and then submit FIVE NEW AND DIFFERENT NUMBERS BETWEEN 1 AND 52 as your new consolation cointest poker hand! You obviously want to submit the five numbers that correspond to the BEST POSSIBLE HAND you can make in poker (a royal flush) if you can, but the hand you choose to submit is entirely up to you! There are also some HIDDEN CLUES to be found SOMEWHERE on the geocaching.com website! Hmmmmm...I wonder where those clues might be hiding?! In case you aren't familiar with poker, here is an example of how the poker hands rank in order (card suits are interchangeable and these are just examples):

 

 

PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR POKER HAND NUMBERS IN THIS THREAD...REPEAT REPEAT...DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWER HERE! You should instead submit your five numbers to me through a PM (a private message...just click on the little blue PM button to the left of this post, just below my username and avatar). Be advised that an email may be delayed in reaching me, so try to avoid sending me an email through my profile, remember...send me a PM, its faster and much more reliable. In the event of more than one identical winning consolation hand, the FIRST HIGH HAND SUBMITTED will be declared the winner! So time is a factor...be thorough, but be fast too!...Only 1 submission per player. This consolation cointest will end in about 24 hours on Sunday, March 7th, at 5 PM U.S. Eastern Time.

Thank goodness. It's going to take me a week to sort this out. I had to stop a dozen times to, fix the computer, fix dinner, play with my son and clean up a mess... I love puzzles but I've never been super fast even when I wasn't a mama. But when I saw it was first one done and I didn't check the thread until almost an hour late, I knew I was just doing it for fun. I really did enjoy the contest. I read all the entries and there are several games I still need to look up. Maybe a brand new favorite amoung them. Thank you so much for holding it.

Well.. it was a great game that made me forget the disaster I had some hours ago! The memory stick I had and inside I was saving so many info, scans and photos for my coin, my banknote collection plus.... the list with the codes of my geocoins..... broke!!! It had an accident a couple of weeks ago, and it had a small problem, but now it broke into pieces! The plug that you put in the USB... seperated from the rest part! I lost everything!!!

 

I was lucky and had the codes in an other memory stick and in a floppy disc too, but I lost all the rest!!!

 

I am so sad especially for 2 things... the signature variety list of the Russian banknotes of the Tzarist period a guy from Lithuania had given me (I do not think I will ever find it again! It was from a Russian catalogue), and scans and photos with valuable info about some extremelly rare local banknotes and bank cheques that were used like money in Rhodes, when we had Italian occupation! No chance to find them again!

 

So this game helped me forget this....

I am wondering if there is a way to take the saved info from it... but...

Great job. I had it narrowed down to the 6 of spades, but still had 4 cards to rule out on on the other one. DS ruined a brand new deck of cards and I have about 20 of them on the floor where he slipped around on them as I tossed aside the ones I'd ruled out. It is so hard to concentrate with him and DH talking about the letters and numbers and him asking me "this a heart?" But I think I liked that last one best, so I wasn't giving up till I saw a winner. LOL It was so nice of you to let us play a bonus round. I really enjoyed it so I guess I'm a winner anyway. Thank you.

I knew the 6 of Spades, and knew that two cards were 2's, but didn't know 6 from 33. The last two cards were 9's but I didn't know which was which. I was about to just submit a 50/50 guess to hope to win.
