Car Charger for 60CSX

Hi:

 

Does anyone know if a car charger that has a mini USB connector will work with the 60CSX. In other words, it would fit in the USB connector port of the 60CSX. The official one that fits in the Auxiliary Power Port is a lot more expensive. Thanks, Kent

As long as it don't put out more than 5 volts, you'll be OK. I like the ones with dual USB input.

Or you could use a Motorola phone charger like I do.

To be clear, this won't actually charge the batteries in your unit. See #2 and #3 at

It's worth mentioning that the USB connector on these model isn't highly ruggedized. There have been reports of that connector coming loose or failing electrically with repeated connect/disconnect cycles. I wouldn't plug and unplug it between caches on a day of power-hunting, for example.

Great info. I see your point. The USB car adapter will work but you are right. It might come out easily and the more you use it the looser it will become. The batteries last a long time anyway so a plug is probably not necessary most of the time.

You can't charge batteries IN the 60 CSx, there is no circuitry for doing that.
