+DazeDnFamily
Heya all. We get some interesting tech type news feeds at work, and this little gem was in it yesterday..... GPS Flashlight I don't know much about it, but I thought if anyone would like to see it'd be us guys. Enjoy! Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
More like a GPS with pico projector. Don't think the technology is quite there yet. Interesting concept though. What I want is something that makes my outline glow red like that image... Edited February 26, 2010 by Chrysalides Quote Link to comment
jholly
Now if they would only combine that with the solar powered flashlight we would be in business. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Interesting concept -- a solar powered flashlight. Good for daytime use only, eh? Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
You laugh, but they exist. http://www.google.com/search?q=solar+powered+flashlight They actually use the photovoltaic cells to recharge an internal battery. Now, if anyone can find me a cordless extension cord... Quote Link to comment

+ecanderson
Heya all. We get some interesting tech type news feeds at work, and this little gem was in it yesterday..... GPS Flashlight I don't know much about it, but I thought if anyone would like to see it'd be us guys. Enjoy! It would take a whopping laser and a fair bit of power to really light up a patch of sidewalk of the size shown in the article on anything but a very cloudy day... or at night. Quote Link to comment
+chachi44089
Seems to me that a handheld GPS with turn by turn navigation plus an earphone would be the ticket. The biggest issue might be trying to keep a sat lock in the presence of tall buildings might be a problem.Has anyone used their handheld GPS in this type of setting?Lowrance has a handheld GPS that does turn by turn and has a headphone jack, wonder if it would work??
