How do I go about knowing quickly that a new cache is in my area. I am excited to work towards getting my first FTF. He was there within a couple hours, how did he know so quickly??? +3isamagic# Posted February 25, 2010 Share Posted February 25, 2010 I am new also, I haven't hid a cache yet. Good for you! I do know that you can change the notifications from emails to phone. If you have an itouch or blackberry, I assume you can get the notification and head straight for it. I have also heard of some people going out at night to be first to find. I am sure someone will add the details, but if you are like me, you are dying to know right away. Good luck with your caches. Quote Link to comment

Thanks On your profile page, scroll down the right hand side menu , you'll see the 'setup instant notifications' link there.Then, it's just a matter of choosing which type of new caches you want notifying about when they're published.
