Etrex Vista HCx vs. Oregon 450

I was thinking about upgrading my Vista HCx to an Oregon 450 and I was wondering if it would really be an upgrade? Does the Oregon 450 have the same High Sensitivity sensor like the Vista HCx does?

The high resolution screen of the Oregon is reason enough to upgrade, imho. Once I had my Oregon 550, I never wanted to go back to my 60CSx... sold it shortly after.

it has the same high sensitivity receiver, it's got a great screen... and it's paperless. that alone is enough to make it better. I just picked up a refurbished 400t for 319.99 off of ebay and it's in great condition and is ridiculously easy to use!

The only way the Vista HCx is better is the brighter screen and possibly battery life. The Oregon is superior in every other way.

 

Paperless - once you use it, it is highly unlikely you'll turn back.

AFAIK all the newer garmin units are using a high sensitivity receiver of some sort. If you like the size/form factor of the Vista you might want to check out the Dakota series - the Dakota 20 is comparable to an Oregon 300 but without the Wherigo support and with a brighter/more contrasty screen.
