+Lil Devil
Instead of asking someone else to do it, why don't you step up to the plate and organize it yourself? Its not hard to do, find a location that needs cleaned up. Contact the land manager and explain what you want to do. Contact the appropriate disposal department to see about getting a free pickup of the debris, or at least free dumping at a nearby disposal station. Then create an event at geocaching.com. You could also work with an established organization, such as the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District or one of the ones listed here. Doing something positive like cleaning up trash is a great way to introduce land managers to our sport - it will help make it easier to secure permission to place caches Thats what we just did. We all had a great time, and established some great contacts and relationships that will make further events much easier. Lil Devil Quote Link to comment
