+jasy Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 We will visit SA in March and will travel by car from Cape Town to PE, and also stay a couple of nights south of Kruger Park. What is important to consider when caching in SA compared to northern Europe? Right now here Gothenburg, Sweden is a couple of decimeters of snow so the caching is somewhat on hold... /jasy (+hesy+josy_se) Quote
+Fish Eagle Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 stay a couple of nights south of Kruger Park. That's our home area - pm coming your way. Quote
+Discombob Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 why dont you set up an event cache in Cape town, or ask one of the capetownites to do so for you. They love any excuse for a big breakfast or a few beers Contact cownchicken or Henzz or capedoc or the pooks, they will be able to sort you out! And if you time it well and are not afraid of death, you can join the The Great Table mountain Traverse Extravaganza on 7 march Quote
+the pooks Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 You don't have to pack your snow gear! If you give us an idea of your preferences and time available for caching we can give some recommendations of caches to put on your short list. Having said that as a tourist you probably don't have the time to go out of your way after caches, so you end up visiting those that fit in with your schedule, which is also great. Quote
+Henzz Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Weather update - 20 February 2010 - Cape Town... 40 deg Celsius at around 2pm... No thick jackets needed today, rather a good sunscreen... Don't worry, it's not this warm every day, normally this time of the year the temperature peaks at around 26 degrees Celsius. Quote

You should feel right at home there if you can make it! See my post in the Fynbos Finders forum. Edited February 22, 2010 by gr8scot Quote
