Simulating on a PC

Getting in an Oregon 550 soon and interested in this phase of caching. Did a search but nothing - Can one download a cartridge and simulate it on your PC or is the only way to run it is on the GPSr?

Yes, if you have a compatible version of Windows (see other threads in here for getting the Builder to work on recent and/or 64-bit versions).

Download the Builder from www.Wherigo.com (requires .Net Framework as well), then select Tools/Emulator and browse to the directory containing the GWC file. (Use the "PocketPC" build of the cartridge for best results.)

Also looking on how to get the emulator to test until my Oregon 450 arrives

Please advise on steps to get it and how to load it

Does the emulator only work on XP or Vista as well?

I have Vista Home Premium and x64bit

thanks

Yes this is possible. I solved two Wherigo Caches this way.

Have downloaded Builder as described above but when use Emulator get script errors. How did you do this?
