+Ratbas
Hiya, I've head the expression "Cache A Day" a few times. Seems like it should be simple to understand, but I think I've heard it used different ways. Haven't had any luck finding more info. Any directions? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+ngrrfan
In our area, there is someone who is putting out a cache-a-day. So we get a new cache each day. Check out GC23Y4W Edited February 15, 2010 by ngrrfan Quote Link to comment
ao318
In our area, it usually refers to someone finding their cache for the day. These people are usually trying to keep some kind of streak going for personal reasons or to accomplish a challenge cache. Quote Link to comment

Looks like a power-cacher's holiday! we got a whole series in Ontario dedicated to each month, the GHMGC A Cache A Day series, but you don't have to do it in one year only, finds from previous years count to complete one particular month Quote Link to comment
Skippermark
I think about caching every day. Does that count? Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
I know some cachers have found at least 1 cache per day for going on 5 or more years. Hiding 1 new cache per day - hmmmmmmm not sure abut that...... Quote Link to comment
+GeoGeeBee
Being a newbie, I kept a streak going for a while. But it got to be pretty boring. I'd find a lame LPC in a WalMart parking lot. Then, instead of going across the street to the Home Depot parking lot while I was there, I'd wait and go back the next day. Then one day it was raining buckets, and I realized that trying to keep the streak going wasn't fun. So I stopped. Quote Link to comment
+Ratbas
Some people seem to use it as an average (which I can see as a reasonable goal ) and some people seem really fixated on dates. I think I'll go for the average. I'm up to about Groundhog's Day right now. Quote Link to comment
+Ratbas
Looks like people are trying to mark off every calendar day, but not necessarily in the same calendar year. Sound about right? Quote Link to comment
+Scubasonic
My current streak is at 599 days and after about the 200 day I just can't give it up with the thought of having to start all over again, so I will keep it rolling as long as I can. Scubasonic Quote Link to comment
+ZeLonewolf
My girlfriend, also an avid geocacher, challenged me to a cache-a-day challenge back in November. We're both verrrry competitive, and both of us want to win very badly for bragging rights... Well, we're still on, today was day 86, and let me tell you, finding one EVERY day is HARD. +Ratbas
How do you keep the streak going when there's no way of getting a signal do to say, a weeks worth of thick clouds like eastern Mass had last week? Do you just pick out lamp posts by Google maps? Quote Link to comment

Do you just pick out lamp posts by Google maps? Actually, clouds don't affect GPS reception. That's an urban myth. The signal goes right through them! Quote Link to comment
+Ratbas
That myth felt pretty true when I couldn't get a signal until the clouds cleared away a bit. Quote Link to comment
