+TXHooligans
just thought of this.. haven't seen it yet since i'm new to geocaching... are there any caches that purposly make a picture when viewed on a map? it would probably be difficult to find cache locations near the coords to make the points on the map, but it'd be just as good an idea as some others i have seen here. +briansnat
I recall a series that spelled a word when viewed on a map. Quote Link to comment
+Casting Crowns
There is a series her in Dallas/Ft. Worth called the DFW Smilie Project. It encompasses the whole metroplex and surrounding areas to create......wait for it.....WAIT FOR IT.......a HUGE Smilie face on the map. I would provide a link but you should be able to find it in the hide/seek a cache feature. Sorry....:/ Quote Link to comment

+Odie442
I was looking into doing a puzzle / mystery type cache and have 5 stages. Stages 1 through 4 would be on 4 corners of the county (its a small county) and then in the 4th cache there would be a note instead of coords to the 5th (final) cache that would say "X" marks the spot. The final would be where a line would be draw between the other 4 caches to make an "X" on the map. I'm still working at this and might only use a town instead of a the county. +Planet
Once, while caching in MA, I tried to paddle my kayak and spell geo in cursive writing on my GPS, it was a little windy, and I couldn't quite keep the track. I couldn't watch the GPS while I was paddling, but this is what came out. It was harder than I thought it would be, with the wind. Maybe I should have tried it larger: Quote Link to comment
knowschad
There are several (if not more! ) threads on this subject here, but as you may have discovered, it isn't a subject that is easy to search for (or else I would have done it for you). But yeah... there are a lot of them. And then, there was Luke Helder and his Minnesota Smiley Face series... Quote Link to comment
+geodarts
A friend did a series of geocaching Peace Points to create a Peace Symbol when viewed on a map. It was fitting for our area of Northern California. Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
Probably the best cache that I've ever seen! But I cannot say any more. Quote Link to comment
Clan Riffster
Two of my night caches have the seekers following reflectors through swamps, with their tracklogs on. On one, they draw out the number "42", and at the end of the track they are given some math instructions to manipulate the number they drew into the final coords. On the other, they draw a giant arrow that points at the cache. Quote Link to comment
+slowdownracer
Check-out "The Big Dipper" series of caches in eastern PA, west of Wind Gap, PA. (The eighth star in the picture, next to the bowl, is one of mine and is not part of the series.) Quote Link to comment

Its unicorns, isn't it? Edited February 12, 2010 by maggi101 Quote Link to comment

Now we might have to visit someday just for that!!! Quote Link to comment
Clan Riffster
I'm assuming that number was carefully chosen? Naturally! As the answer to life, the universe and everything, it just seemed appropriate. Quote Link to comment
