TDCompton
Just curious to see how many others enjoy taking their canine companions out to cache with them and see photos of your four legged cachers in action.. I take my Belgian Malinois "Braxton" almost everywhere I go, so taking him caching was a simple decision.. He already had a hiking pack before I started caching, so to say the least I am grateful to him for carrying numerous bottles of water and whatever else I need to take with me out on the hunt!! In addition to that he is a trained Personal Protection K9 (is also trained for Dual Purpose Police Work and Schitzhund) so I feel that taking him with me is only a logical thing to do since I am a petite female and enjoy night caching... Braxton doing his "pack duty" last month on a cold, rainy, day of caching... Braxton doing what he loves... Braxton just looking handsome... I should mention my old girl "Schmoopee".. At 12 1/2 years old she is much too old to go out caching but I love her none the less.. She was a rescue that wasn't going to make it a year according to the shelter - 4 1/2 years later the old girl is still running the household! Quote Link to comment
+minew
My geodogs name is Meeko and although her and I just started caching early this year she has provided fun and entertainment! She's great company. She's 3/4 Border Terrier and 1/4 Border Collie! At 8 years young she is a fireball of energy. I take her on the trails all the time so geocaching and her were a perfect match since the city I live in has caches all over the trails! She's even sniffed out a few for me! I love her to pieces! I would post a picture of her but I'm slightly challenged when it comes to that type of stuff.... She somewhat resembles Benji! P.S. Braxton and Schmoopee are adorable! Quote Link to comment
TDCompton
Did you know that there is a great acoustic artist named Meiko... When I saw Meeko's name I just had to throw that out there. And thank you for the compliment on my two. Quote Link to comment

+leejas72
My Geodog's name is IKE. I'm not able to put pics up here as I don't have a photobucket account...YET! Ike is a purebred German Shepard and loves to run and fetch and just play all the time. I like taking him geocaching with me, when I do caches in the woods I am pretty sure that he could scare away any bears, mountain lions, or non friendly muggles. That's my story of my Geodog. Oh and I take my kids sometimes too...lol Quote Link to comment
+brodiebunch
Our dogs are Brodie-a West Highland White Terrier and Molly-a Cairn Terrier. They go with us when we all go and our in a large park. They have no geocaching sniffing out training but they are great companions and are always up for geocaching. Quote Link to comment

Using Braxton to guard the area while I get a FTF.. Hmmm.. Digitalgoddess>> I am a Correctional Officer in a State Men's Prison, and before that I spent 4 1/2 years behind the console as a 911 Police/Fire/EMS Dispatcher. +uxorious
I plan my cache as often as possible to be dog friendly. I love cache a lot more when the dogs can come and enjoy the hike. The older of the two dogs is also a Belgian Malinois, and one of the best dogs I have ever had. The other one is an Anatolian Shepherd mix. She really looks like an Anatolian, but she only weighs 85 lbs. Most Anatolian go 105 to 150 lbs. Both of these dogs were given to me when they were each about 6 or 7 months old. A couple years apart, but each came from people who had got them, then had a sudden change in life style a month or so later, and had to find new homes for them. Great looking Malinois you have there. (For those that may not know, Malinois is pronounced mal-in-wha) Quote Link to comment
TDCompton
Uxorious>> Another Malinois person!! Thanks for the compliment on my boy, when I first took him on I wasn't so sure about his looks (I prefer a more "typical" Fawn/Blk) but once I started working him I fell head over heels for him.. He's incredibly solid in the field and also a good companion here at home. I have had one previous Malinois that is now on IMPD as a patrol unit... I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for a Mali. Quote Link to comment
+gatoller
I cache with my sidekick, Buster. He's a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever who does AKC Rally Obedience on the side. His 'official' name is 'Keepsake's Chance to Shine CGC, RA', but he doesn't stand on much ceremony- where there's mud, he's in it. +rottiemommy
Here's my geocaching K9 Lars. He's a 2 year old Rottweiler and he loves any excuse to go hiking all over the place. He's my performance super star in the making....we do competition obedience and agility. The boy LOVES to work and agility is his favorite thing on the planet. I don't have any good agility photos or videos yet. Mostly it's just us training and screwing around. But I do have some good ones in rally obedience - Quote Link to comment

+TAG&theGSD's
Cool another working dog out there. Errow is also trained in Schutzhund and we do flyball too. I have pictures up of him under my gallery page. He is my caching buddy a good majority of the time. Quote Link to comment

+all done
Originally thought we would do most of our geocaching via ATV but during the cooler winter we took the truck and brought along the dogs. My wife loves it when we take the dogs so we now geocache more via truck and bring the dogs. "Bo" our black lab and "Maggie" our Golden Retriever mix of course love it when we bring them along. Joked about them finding one before we did some day and Maggie actually found her first one a little while back. Her nicname is sniff by the way so it's no surprise she "sniffed" one out. +jackrock
Here's my boy Rocky. My dogs have always had backpacks for hiking. Rocky carries his own water. I figure it's fair if he carries his gear and I carry mine. I am glad to not have to carry enough water for both of us. Rocky doesn't care much about caching but he is always up for a romp in the woods so he amuses himself quite well while I search. Quote Link to comment
+TeamRecon5
Wow those are some beautiful K9's We got a Mastiff puppy for christmas this last. He is 3 months old and we are already taking him out caching with up. Working on leash breaking, he seems to be a bit reluctant. No matter he will be our caching buddy. Quote Link to comment
+Printess Caroline
Here are our escorts, Durpy and Sparky. Neither of them are interested in caching, but they both enjoy going along. Durpy is about 3. The people at the shelter thought she was a Jack Russell / Basenji mix, but there's no way that explains all of her. She loves a good walk, especially if there are some critters along the way. Sparky is an Australian Cattledog. At her age (13), she's not one to enjoy long walks, but she still loves a short walk to a cache and the rest time she gets while we search for it. Quote Link to comment
+Chamma
I've got a beagle mix, named Scooter, that loves to go out. She is ten and has been caching with me in 8-9 different Countries. +ChileHead
My goldendoodle goes with me on about 3/4 of my cache finds. Often when signing a cache I'll turn around, and he'll be 5 feet up a fallen tree like this one: One time he scared me when he climbed up a fallen tree similar to this one and was about 10 feet off the ground! Shaelyn was my first Belgian Mal....She would have LOVED caching.....I lost her quite a few years ago. I have had 3 Belgians and can't imagine a life without them..... My other 2 are Belgian Sheepdogs (the longhaired black ones) Aztec was a rescue I lost him to cancer 4 years ago......I now have Sundance Cassidy (yep my caching name) who is 2.5years old) he is a little too enthusiastic right now for caching but he is settling down with age. They are wonderful dogs but they definitely need jobs and active pasttimes. Quote Link to comment
