COINTEST! COINTEST! COINTEST!

Recommended Posts

Ok so I did this a while back and I given my penchent for making historical (loosely) themed coins: Ancient Celtic, King Tut, Robin Hood, Musketeer, Medusa, Roman Leggionnaire etc. I would like to try this again.

Cointest Instructions and rules:

1. You are to create a Timeline of Man using geocoins... for instance starting with Stonehenge design etc.

2. The timeline has to be at least 10 entries long and each entry must include a brief caption and picture of a coin. (www.geocoincollection.com has lots of pics).

3. The timeline will run exactly 4 cycles of the moon

4. Upon completion of the time period, people can vote their favorite top 3 for another moon cycle

5. Use your imagination!

Winner gets 3 coins of their choice from the list of my designs above. Runner up gets 2 coins of their choice and third runner up gets 1 coin of my choosing.

:P

Example:

1. stonehenge benchmark - built a long time ago

2. mystery pyramid coin - built sometime 2600 bc

3. parisi - French tribe settled in 400 bc

4. wales 2006 castle - built in 1200s

5. da vinci challenge series - rennaisance europe

You get the idea... I didn't show photos but you have to...

I am seriously excited about this cointest. I love history AND I love geocoin research! :P

In the course of my procrastination ...uh, participation... I am likely to do a few of these timelines. While I only expect to be entered into the cointest once, can I post the rest or should I only post one?

once upon a time...oh, about 10 years ago...in a land far, far, away called beavercreek, oregon...there lived a small family of adventurous turtles.

956407f8-2baf-490b-a89d-29dd4d906af9.jpg

one day while walking slowly through the woods in the month of may, the turtle family discovered a geocache under a tree and were so happy at their discovery, that they pledged from that day forward to help spread goodwill to others through geocaching where ever they traveled. so as the family grew larger, some turtles took their little ones in tow, and moved to other far away lands, never forgetting the geocache promise that was made.

ea976bc9-ba86-40fc-8961-2d2d4fdfb495.jpg

every where the turtles went, they placed a geocache for all to enjoy.

cf652982-ab58-446c-9ecf-c49ea2396f9e.jpg

some moved to the great american southwest and a few ventured further south to central and south america.

89830079-2251-492f-9e6f-f99b9d6539db.jpg

some moved to asia and to other exotic lands of the far east.

ae7dfe0a-a129-4b0e-850d-d9ef57fd3665.jpg

some even managed to swim to hawaii and all the other south pacific and indonesian islands.

33e7b968-68e2-4eef-a70b-904807caad32.jpg

one adventurous little turtle dude even surfed the earth's seven seas all the way to antarctica!

c5f16a7c-092f-48ae-b8a0-fd4f5ff6a9e9.jpg

during his surfing adventures "down under" he left his own gem trackable on the island of tasmania for other geocachers to find and discover! cowabunga cool!

469454cc-6a3a-4579-a7e3-b612675c7a83.jpg

a few of his cousins swam a great mediterranean sea cruise until they reached Greece and bought a few souvenirs, and a cool geocaching t-shirt, before touring all of europe. a few other long distance "travelers" made it all the way to africa on a wooden raft made of drift wood, and some mighty turtles even ventured to the "great white north" of canada in spite of the frigid temperatures and celine dion!

a7ad47ec-3de6-4307-9598-5d83bfec9c38.jpg

some say that the turtles have helped place geocaches in over 100 countries around the world on all seven continents, including antarctica. as of March 8, 2010, there are over 1,001,000 active geocaches on the earth. maybe these little turtles aren't quite as slow as we think they are. the 10 year anniversary of geocaching has given all the turtles of the world a great reason to celebrate, and made them all one great big happy family!

b819000f-82fe-4f0f-87ee-9daf3f5eb9bb.jpg

and so they all cached happily ever after...the end...or is it just the beginning?!

during his surfing adventures "down under" he left his own gem trackable on the island of tasmania for other geocachers to find and discover! cowabunga cool!

a few of his cousins swam a great mediterranean sea cruise until they reached Greece and bought a few souvenirs, and a cool geocaching t-shirt, before touring all of europe. a few other long distance "travelers" made it all the way to africa on a wooden raft made of drift wood, and some mighty turtles even ventured to the "great white north" of canada in spite of the frigid temperatures and celine dion!

some say that the turtles have helped place geocaches in over 100 countries around the world on all seven continents, including antarctica. as of March 8, 2010, there are over 1,001,000 active geocaches on the earth. maybe these little turtles aren't quite as slow as we think they are. the 10 year anniversary of geocaching has given all the turtles of the world a great reason to celebrate, and made them all one great big happy family!
