how to do event discovery

i am taking my last 30 geocoins to an event in a week or so, 12 of which are trackable. do i make a list for people to use in discovery, or put a sticker under each coin with the tracking number — they are in one of those cool coin albums. i think it would be simpler to have the number under the coin so folks can see the coin and read the number without a microscope.

how do you folks do event discoveries?

I always print out a list of the codes, with the name of the coin, and the date I added it to my collection (for those who have discovered my collection at past events, can go from that last date forward), and make several copies to keep next to my binders. I also give them the option of emailing me for a digital copy of the list so they can copy/paste the codes instead of hand typing them all in. I keep all the info in a spreadsheet in Excel.

attach a dogtag TB to the album and when cachers discover the album(TB) send them the coin codes through email...saves from having to update your coinlist or printing something out before every event... so much quicker and easier too... Cachers only need to write down one # instead of 30 or in extreme cases....400+ codes.

I've gone both ways but prefer the larger printed label with each coin as many folks use their digital cameras to record tracking numbers and it allows them to see the label and coin together when they go to log it.

that's a nice idea. i am not thrilled with the idea of having permanent labels under my coins though. i only have 12 activated coins, so i could actually print the list with small pics of the coins. have new colour printer!
