xxxxxx - cannot search/download cache info since site upgrade.

Since the site upgrade I have been unable to use any of the on-line components which link to the geocaching.com website i.e. to download cache logs, search for new caches

I think the only way around this for the moment is to create a pocket query and then import the GPX file - which at least gets new caches into the application.

The reason I paid for a premium membership was to use this tool.

Technically though, use of such software was breaking the Terms & Conditions you signed up too. Can it still import the GPX/pocket query files?

I'd comment on whether Geoscout is having the same issues, but my PDA has decided its had enough and won't work at all. But I suspect the direct import/searching for new caches/update details will be broken. But GPX import should still work.

GPX import is fine - didn't realise I was breaking any T&C - which part exactly? Seems a bit harsh as I cant use the iPhone App sold by Groundspeak on my HTC.

I think it is this part:

5. Access and Interference

Much of the information on the Site is updated on a real time basis and is proprietary or is licensed to Groundspeak by our users or third parties. You agree that you will not use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the Site for any purpose without our express written permission. Additionally, you agree that you will not: (a) take any action that imposes, or may impose in our sole discretion an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure; or ( B ) interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Site or any activities conducted on the Site or other measures we may use to prevent or restrict access to the Site.

My problem is that I didn't write the Application so how would I have any idea whether the developer has obtained permission? I'll drop the developer an email and ask - thanks.

I think it's the use of it which requires permission, not the development of it. Hence each user would have to acquire permission.
