Nuvi POIs

Things saved in my Favorites show on my map while driving and when I Browse Map, but POIs don't show on the Browse Map or while driving. Isn't there a way to have then not only show, but get announced when your close to a POI?

Which nuvi?

 

Typically, on most nuvis you must be zoomed in fairly closely (200 - 300 feet) in order for the Custom POIs to show up on the map screen.

 

And on some models, you must also be in a 2D rather than a 3D map mode as well.

I load POIs on my nuvi via GSAK. There's a setting in the script to sound an alarm at a user-specified distance from a cache.

 

POI icons don't show up unless you are on very small scale, something like 80 meters or so, then it's a generic green icon. This is a limitation in the nuvi, it's apparently very difficult to increase the size of the icons.

I'll try 2D mode.

 

And to answer the other guy, I'm on a Mac so I'm not using GSAK. I'm using MacSimpleGPS.

So am I. I run GSAK in Parallels. It's worth every bit of the hassle.
