+spymaxx
I just ordered a Oregon 550T from Abe's of Maine today. Cost 509.00 after free shipping and using a 10$ discount coupon. Should see it in 5-7 days. Quote Link to comment

Should see it in 5-7 days. You did your research - I just purchased the Oregon 400t from PCNation on sale for 375.88 vs the 499.99 retail. I'm mot familiar with Abe's of Maine but my research showed that you got a great price. Only $9 more than TheNerds.net who do not give you shipping. Quote Link to comment

+RonFisk
Oregon 400t $329 at Costco.com There's a big difference between the 400t and the 550t. $509.00 wh/shipping is reasonable for the 550t.... Quote Link to comment
+jicknarson
Oregon 400t $329 at Costco.com That is a great price... I am much more comfortable spending $329 than $500+ for the 550t, even though that is a good deal. Now - is there anybody out there with a Costco membership that will buy one for me? I'm good for the purchase price - really! Quote Link to comment
+mike-ski
I bought my Colorado 400t from ABES...then you get the second phone call wanting them to sell you an extended warranty. They told me that Garmin only has 90 days P&L and parts for a year. Then they told me the extended warranty they were going to sell me was the same that Garmin offers. It was so unbelievable I wish I recorded it. I called them back and told them I did not appreciate the flat out lying. I am sorry sir they said, we will send you a dinner certificate...which never came. What a piece of work in my book. Quote Link to comment
+spymaxx
I got the same phone call too. Didn't need the warranty so I turned them down. According to the tracking number, it will be here tomorrow. That is fast considering that the website said 7 days on shipping. Quote Link to comment
j.larsen
I also ordered a 550t, but delivery will be in one month. The long delivery time is because I bought the unit with employee discount, and the place I work will place a collected order at january 16. Let me know how you find your new unit, when it gets delivered Quote Link to comment
+spymaxx
Well it showed up today. I guess UPS has recovered from Xmas. Some more fast shipping. I got a chance to look over it tonight. After making some adjustments and tweaks to it, I can say that I am impressed with it. Then I loaded GASK on the notebook and proceeded to learn how to do use it. Then I upgraded my account here to Premium status. I did manage to use the export feature on GASK to create a backup excel file, then loaded it on my blackberry storm for reference in case I screw up the Oregon. Now I am about brain dead... But I have 428 caches within a 12 mile radius all loaded on the Oregon 550T ready to run!!! Now I can use my blackberry storm to log them live as I find them. I think this is paperless.... not sure, it huts t thik nw..... .. . Edited January 7, 2010 by spymaxx Quote Link to comment
+jotne
Using the cache function on your Oregon, you can log the cache as found, no need for other devices to do that. Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
Well it showed up today. I guess UPS has recovered from Xmas. Some more fast shipping. Nice Have you found out about the Garmin Oregon wiki yet? Just about everything you need to know is there. Quote Link to comment
+spymaxx
I didn't know about it. I will check it out though. Quote Link to comment
+teepeeayy
Wow. $509 seems good for the 550T. Amazon has the 450T on pre-order for $499. I'd like to see if there are other retailers who will drop the price by $100 on the 450T since it doesnt have the camera. Maybe wishful thinking, but... Quote Link to comment
