just bought my first GPSr - what now?

So I did a little searching before coming here, but a ton of it is particular questions about this or that. I've been using an iPhone for the past few months and have zero clue how to use this archaic device, lol.

Anyways, I have no idea where to start and looking for the basics on how to use this with geocaching, of course I could scour the manual and try to figure it out, but the manual doesn't really mention geocaching and honestly, I'm not sure what I need to pay attention to and what to ignore.

Basically I'll still use my iPhone for most everything besides hiding caches and out in the mountain caches where I lose reception. Also for the caches with heavy cover where my iPhone bounces. I don't really need to input caches at my computer. I wouldn't mind inputting them while out and about. Any caches I'll be visiting, I'll look at and record the info related to them on my phone. To me, it looks like I'll just need to figure out how to input coords and go from there, right?

I just don't want to miss out on anything really cool or easy because I wanna do it the "easy way" right now. I'm on a mac as well, if that matters.

Inputting coordintes isn't very intuitive but it is easy.

First "mark" your current postion. Then "edit" those coordinates to the corrdinates you want to go to. Slect that point and "goto"

If you have a Garmin, it's easy. For caches, you can go here, download the Garmin Communicator Plugin and install it. Connect your GPSr to your Mac with the USB cable it came with and turn it on. Then when you find a cache you like, just click on the "Send to GPS" button and it's done.
