The time it takes Cash Register to...

For cash register to receive a Pocket Query organically takes a long time. Is there a way to ask/force Cash Register to check for new or updated pocket querys?

I think some have had good luck quitting it out of the 'task bar' and relaunching the app.. Not sure,

my copy is a 'dashboard 'widget''.

Lemonhead: Could you be a little more specific? How long is a "long time?" Do you mean when you build a new query, or when a query is regenerated (which can be at most once a day)? Cache Register can't receive a new pocket query until GC.com generates it, and can't updste an existing one until GC.com does.

AND... Have you asked this question over in the DeLorme support forums for Cache Register?

Norm: Turn Cache Register it into an application using Amnesty Singles and you don't need to run it in the Dashboard layer. This will let you load & quit the app as you wish, as well as getting it to refresh at any interval you want.

I hadn't got it by the time i went to bed last nite, About a half hour.

Had it by this morning. Re submitted a different Query and have not gotten it yet, 15 min.

Can't even get to the old query. Shown as unavailable, 15 min.

It didn't used to be this slow.

No, i hadn't asked on DeLorme forum yet, thought i would bounce it off you guys first.

If you have a PQ scheduled to run weekly,

I would expect it to be available for the week after it has run.

Then I expect that it would be replaced when run again.

I don't know it as a fact,

but after a year I would not expect the 51 previous to be available.

However, once a PQ has been run and available,

it is my experience that CR can transfer it from geocaching.com

to a PN-XX in a few minutes.

If that cannot be accomplished in a few minutes then you have a problem elsewhere.

Remember, the CR that I and others are running as expected is no different,

bit for byte, than yours.

So, if it were a CR issue, we would all be afflicted.

Sometimes, if the initial attempt is unsuccessful,

the file CacheRegister.xml can become corrupted

and foil subsequent attempts to transfer the PQ results.

I suggest a Windows search for the file and delete it.
