It's probably a mistake if you ordered the coin. If you got it as an extra, maybe it's meaned to travel or they want you to contact them for an addoption. Just ask them. Ruud Quote Link to comment
+Droo
Has it been traveling? Was it last seen in a cache? Find out if Oakcoins will adopt it to you. Quote Link to comment
paganfrog
it was the geocoin gift in my geocoin secret santa via these forums. i didnt know it was activated untill i tried to activate it myself and i dont think my secret santa partner knew it was either. Quote Link to comment
paganfrog
it has no travel history on its page either. sorry for my questions i feel a bit silly as i have no idea what to do. Quote Link to comment
+Droo
I just did a quick search and there appear to be oodles of these coins that are in individual cacher's names but no point of origin info... almost like it was activated by the coin maker and then adopted. Ironically most are parked in people's collections. Contact Oakcoins and see what the story is. Quote Link to comment

+opalsns
or, just look for it on the trackables page on GC. DO A SEARCH BY NAME OF TRACKABLE then just ask the owner of any of those types , what to do Quote Link to comment
+nielsenc
The Trackable Oakleaf Geocoins are adoptable. Quote Link to comment
paganfrog
thank you all. i have now resolved this issue. i just wasnt sure if it was a mistake or if it was a regular done thing. i wouldnt have known as i dont buy many geocoins and have never bought from oak coins even though i love their coins due to the shipping costs. avroair
Oakcoins routinely activates the showpiece coins that they have at events. That way if it gets stolen then they are able to track it. This is probably one of those that got accidentally put into a Christmas stocking. Quote Link to comment
