My best caching memories for this year:

Caching on the ice when all was frozen! We did the trip with a South Africian cacher (Besem) which not much skating experience. You can see him in the front trying to keep his balance.

A bit further away you can see myself (in black) and my daughter.

This way we reached a lot of ***** caches

My other hobby beside caching and coin collecting:

Taking care and riding our 3 horses.

This is Sina, my icelandic horse. She has her own pathtag.

The snow on the picture is not typically Dutch! Maybe one day a year.

This is my daughter she competes in cross country riding. This is one of her ponies called Lasko.

I won't be able to participate in the childhood picture portion of this cointest.

I only had one infant picture and the stone tablet it was chiseled on broke when dropped a few years ago. All the later childhood pictures were wood carvings and termites ate them.

I am old.

OK here we go:

1. What would you do for a coin?

When a new friend starts caching - I will make sure that I give them a coin so that they too can become an owners and bitten by the caching bug.

2. This year is almost coming to an end. So please show us your most beautiful, sad, funny, tragic or epic picture you took while you were out Geocaching this year. Please do tell us the story that goes behind the picture.

While caching in Qatar - we came across this DHUBB - a local lizard.

they are very large - but not agressive (I did not know this at the time). It was very nervous time getting in close to the cache (which was near the lizard) to try and retrieve the cache - for a FTF too!

We did get the FTF and the lizard just lay there in the sun watching me! and all of that in my first trip to the middle East and the desert.

3. Show and tell us your hobbies other then geocaching and collecting geocoin.

I am a rugby referee. This year was very special as I was able to referee my son playing rugby at a tournament (he is on the right hand side).

4. Cointest 4 will be based on your childhood photographs. We all are very curious about how we all looked like when we were kids, so please send your childhood photograph to Team Van Stoffelen at cointest{AT}Huiberts.info. I will transform these photo’s into a new and extra cointest that will be online just after the first three cointests have ended.

Cointest: other Hobbies except geocaching....

some weeks ago, I didn't even know about these strange plastic or paper tokens they are used by soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq! I learned from the forum that they are called pogs! Six Little Spookies sent me some (he sent 152 different pogs!!!!!) and now I have a small collection which I really love!!!! They are amazing!!!! Lovely things that according to what I found, they are considerend to be a kind of paper money!!!! WOW!!!

Oh..inside there were and the first ones of 2001 too, and some are 3D with moving images!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!! :D

I admit it! I am addicted to them now!!! even if they are scarse, I am addicted! :D

Six little spookies is a great and so kind guy!!! Steve my friend , thank you so much!!!! May God keep you and your family safe!!!! And as a small wish.... I wish you will find the pogs you are missing my friend very soon! I think they are about 25.... am I right?? :D

The first three cointests are over. The fourth - childhood photo - cointest will be here as soon as possible. Time to announce the winners:

1. What would you do for a coin? Please let us know what you are willing to do just to win a geocoin in this cointest. Remember, winning this cointest equals doing what you have promised in your answer.

:D The winner is: Carbon hunter who is going to give a coin to a friend when he starts geocaching.

2. This year is almost coming to an end. So please show us your most beautiful, sad, funny, tragic or epic picture you took while you were out Geocaching this year. Please do tell us the story that goes behind the picture.

:D This was really a very hard decision. I loved the Nebraska picture of Catsnfish in #11. I shivered at Gatoulis' story in #17 about dangerous caching on Rhodes. But I recognised a lot in DrNeal's story about his last walk with Logan. About two months ago we had to let our 17 year old Jack Russell Max go. His last walk with our family he enjoyed a lot and it even looked like he was healthy as never before. We've got great memories of our four-feeted-friend.

So the winner of this cointest is drneal.

3. Show and tell us your hobbies other then geocaching and collecting geocoin. Make sure you tell us all a convincing story, show us a photo or drawings. I know ‘stamp collecting’ can be fun, but only these two words won’t make you a winner in this cointest.

:D You didn't make it easy for me on this one. I love the hobby's of Gatoulis, collecting almost everything. I admire Torlutortue for the beautiful fimo miniatures (great Santa!). But this time the winner is he who is keeping history alive: Catsnfish.

:D And then the extra geocoin for someone who has entered all three cointests above and will be entering the 'childhood photo' cointest also. Our greek friend GATOULIS.

I hope you all enjoyed these cointests. You can now enter the childhood photo cointest here.

Thanks all!

:) Well... I do not collect almost everything....

I do not collect stamps, even if I have some, and I have a stamp that was used as a banknote in hard times! Of course my mother and my sister collects stamps!!!! :D

I take coins and banknotes as one collection (pogs are considered to be banknotes, food coupons too, and bonds bank cheques, fake banknotes (copies..) or things that look like coins, tokens (any token), casino coins and chips, and things that look like banknotes... are exonumia, So collectable), the militaria is a second and fossils a third! I also collect phonecards! I also have some lottery tickets.... .... hmm... You are probably right I collect almost anything!

Sorry if I scared you with the mortar shell photos! When I wrote it I was just came back from there and I was really scared too! I was so stupid!!! I was playing with my life there and probably with the lives of my family! Even if they were not close, if one of the mortars exploded.... all would follow!!! Oh boy!!!

I am one of the winners? Thank you my friend! WOW!! :) Congrats to all winners!!! there were some great stories here and it was a great chance to know some things about eachother! :)

And yet another cointest. Below are the childhood photographs of 6 geocachers. The cointest is very simple. Guess the right geocachers geocaching names at each picture (number).

The rules are very simple. Everyone can enter as many times as possible, but for now only one entry (post) per half an hour per cointestant. A post must contain all six numbers and one guess per number. Now and then I will give some clues. The first clue is simple: all of these geocachers been involved in the 4 in 1 mega cointest.

As for those of you who see themselves on the pictures. Your so lucky, because you do have an advantage to the other cointestants. But it might not be wise to put your name behind your photonumber too soon. Smart people may notice that and before you know the smartest will win...

Good luck to all of you!
