GPS60CSx comes with a 1GIG MicroSD Card?!

I just received my new 60CSx, and whe I went to load some maps and check homw much free space I had, I realized it was not a 64Mb card, but rather a 1Gig card!

 

Did I just get lucky, or are they all shipping this way?

I didnt think they came with any chip

It is probably cheaper and easier to source in bulk than a smaller card would be nowadays. Cost cutting measure for Garmin = supply a larger card.

Its even getting hard to find a 1 gig card retail, as 2 gig is the standard now and can be found for ~$8 retail or less.

Yeah, what Savant9 said. Over the years I've seen the same thing with other vendors--card shipped with package is bigger than advertised.

That's what I am figuring. I just [picked up a 4Gig card with a tiny USB adapter for $10. Just figured the literature (even if only on the Garmin website) would be updated.

I bought a new CSx a month or so ago (to replace my old one which gave up the ghost) and it came with a 1 gig card as well.
