+bobandrobin
Hi Folks, Anyone run into this? One month old. After you turn it on and the display screen comes up it shuts down. We tried pulling batteries for a few minutes, changing batteries and plugging it into the car- no help. Is there a trick way to reset? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
I'm lucky - my Venture HC has been trouble free from day 1 (used it for a year now). Does it stay up long enough for you to do a firmware upgrade? If not, or if that doesn't help, try doing a master reset. It will wipe out everything on the unit. 1. Turn off the device 2. Press and hold down PAGE and ENTER (hold down click stick). While holding them down, press and hold POWER for a few seconds. 3. You will see a message on the screen that says "Do you really want to erase all user data?". Select Yes. 4. The device will now reboot, leave it with a clear view of the sky for 30 minutes to acquire the satellite almanac. If that fails, call Garmin and get them to replace it. Quote Link to comment
