+weathernowcast
The tradition of caching through the snow continues! The event will be held December 6th at Krough's. The restaurant opens at noon sharp. Judging from last year's attendance you will want to be there when the doors open. Here is a look at the coin: Once again we will have a pre-event hike. More information to follow but caches will be hidden within the Sparta region on "relatively" flat ground (i.e. not Sparta Glen--despite my nostalgia) Watch this forum topic for pre-event hike information and the co-ordinates of the caches that will be placed before the event. weathernowcast NNJC VP Quote Link to comment

Multiple departures will occur from 8AM through 9:30AM so the group sizes will be "less than huge." The pre-event celebration will occur in the woods at a fixed location(Near GCZDZJ) from 10:30AM-11:15AM Coordinates of the caches will be placed on this post (and will be available at the event) if they are not posted to geocaching.com prior to the event. weathernowcast VP NNJC Quote Link to comment
+weathernowcast
Several items: 1: There is a pre-hike planned. the first groups will be leaving the pre-event location around 8AM. The specific information is listed in the forum along with the traditional pre-event "gathering" which is a holiday affair and separate from the posted event. See the forum at (visit link) 2: I will e-mail everyone that has registered the co-ordinates of the ten caches I am placing before the event. I think they sill be published before the event too. 3: Groups such as boy scouts feel free to attend the pre-event hike. We will have plenty of people to lead you and teach you GPS use. 4: IMPORTANT: the response to the event is overwhelming. We must be at the restaurant BEFORE noon so we can use all the tables. You will be likely be sitting with people you have not met before. If you see geocachers roaming around the restaurant, make room at your table or booth and ask them to sit with you! 5: the restaurant may not be able to sit everyone. I apologize if anyone does not get a seat. Edited December 4, 2009 by weathernowcast Quote Link to comment
