Downloading caches to an old(er) GPS?

Magellan probably has some software on their site that can load the .gpx and .loc files onto your gps, but my preference would be GSAK, it will talk to that unit and has a lot of extra features that make caching easier.

Have both you guys tried both of those programs? Which do you like best?

I have tried both of those, but it has been years and apparently, Easy GPS has had some upgrades. I didn't remember it being as easy as it is now. Going to download new GSAK now.

For simplicity, nothing beats EasyGPS.

GSAK is a little more difficult to learn, but it has a ton of useful features.

I have a Magellan Gold, and was wondering if there can be any downloading of cache and info from Geocaching.com? And how is it done.

Thanks, lemn

You do have their proprietary cable right?

Use GSAK.

I'll i have is Magellan's interface cable (serial) and a conversion cable (serial to USB). Conversion works fine with other GPS (Garmin) and the Geocaching.com site. And Magellan works fine with easyGPS.

Don't know how to interpret this but the Magellan unit also works with GSAK.

Get a premium membership. Create a Pocket Query for caches that you want to hunt. Load the file that is emailed to you into the unit via GSAK.

Get cache page info.

Go find geocaches.
