Lemonhead
...with the Geocaching.com website. In other words, which GPSR works the best (easiest to download caches w/ all or most of the info needed) with out a headache. Especially if i have not done it in a while, what i mean is easy to pick it back up again. GPSR's that i have: 1) Garmin legend, forget it! 2 & 3)Magellan Gold, and Platnum, about the same, serial ports are so 90's. 4)Magellan Explorist 600, a little better but still hard if i havent done it in a while. Not friendly with Geocaching.com Also have a 2000 but not for geocaching. Thanks, lemn P.S. Forgive if this post is in the wrong place. Edited November 4, 2009 by Lemonhead Quote Link to comment
+Tank and Spaz
I use an Oregon 300 and my dad uses a 200. I literally got it out, plugged in and 30 min later was out caching. My dad, not so tech savvy, took an hour... The Oregon series I love, wish mine had the camera in it. Quote Link to comment
Clan Riffster
Another vote for the Oregon. Very intuitive layout. Since you're used to treating a GPSr as an external drive, (courtesy of your eXplorist), you should have no trouble loading caches. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
For ease of loading cache pages it's hard to beat the DeLorme PN40 using the Cache Register application. Perhaps the Garmin Oregons are even easier as I understand it's just a matter of dragging and dropping the GPX files. Can't get much easier than that. Quote Link to comment
Keystone
I am moving this thread from the Geocaching Topics forum to the GPS and Technology forum. Quote Link to comment
+Rockin Roddy
The DeLorme models with the Cache Register app ($10) is the simplest to use. Simply run the PQ and then open CR, highlight the new PQ and sync. You don't even have to open the email for the PQ which you do need to do for any other GPS unit! Ease of use too, fully paperless. Very accurate and my choice for caching! Quote Link to comment
+Chi-Town Cacher
As a happy Delorme PN-40 owner I have to agree that using the $10 Cache Register application from Delorme makes loading PQs so easy to use that even I managed to do it without any problems. Just for your gee whiz info I'm about as tech savvy as a rock and unfortunately I'm only exagerating a little on that. Good luck! Quote Link to comment
