winston61
I've got a chance to buy a new gps and I am choosing between two Garmins. A Nuvi 550 or GPS60CSX. Both has the functions I like. The CSX has been the pipeline a long time, but the 550 looks like the way gps may go, more into the crossover realm. Any insights from the real world would be appreciated. Thanks to all. +CondorTrax
I have the Nuvi 500 and 60CSx. Stick with the 60CSx if your primarily going to be geocaching. The Nuvi 500 is a great unit but its form-factor is not really conducive to caching. It's awkward as a hand-held and has no lanyard attachment. I use my Nuvi 500 for road navigating and to get me to the parking area. I then use the 60CSx for the actual cache hunt and hike. Quote Link to comment
+Red90
Get an Oregon instead. Much better for caching. Quote Link to comment
+The Yinnies
I have a 500 and it does work great for loading the caches and routing to them, but then I use my Delorme PN-40 to get the cache. You can use it to find the cache but it does not work that good. Quote Link to comment
+Rockin Roddy
I would also recommend looking into the DeLorme PN series!! Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
Given those two, I'd go with the 60CSx. But you really should look into an Oregon or Dakota, which fully support paperless caching. Quote Link to comment

I agree, if you want to go with Garmin. The Dakota and you can get a City Nav SD card cheap on Ebay and you are all set. Quote Link to comment
