+zookeepertx
I'm thinking about a couple of locations to place my first cache & wondered about getting permission for placement. Who does one contact about placing one in a roadside rest area? And what about land that is probably city-owned, for instance, a ball field: Parks Dept, Mayor.....? Thanks! Rest areas?.....your state's department of transportation or similar would probably be a good place to start. Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
And for ballfields, definitely start with the Parks Department. Quote Link to comment

+9Key
There are most likely already caches in the parks in your area, so contact some local hiders before contacting the parks department. The hiders will have the info you need. Quote Link to comment
+JohnE5
And for ballfields, definitely start with the Parks Department. They are pretty cool about it. I described it over the phone and she said I could place anything I want as long as it doesn't damage the park. Quote Link to comment
+Skyboy01
Here in Florida, you must contact the designated Parks and Rec person and then comply with the info requested. Even so, it may take as much as 6 weeks to get the required permission. However, I'm told that the local Parks person is slower than most. Quote Link to comment
