namiboy
so there's close to a million geocaches out there, and i was wondering if there was any way that Groundspeak would know which one was the millionth? do they have some behind the scene thing that shows them, on purpose or not, but something that whenever a cache is published that tells them what number it is? GOF and Bacall
That's over 900,000 active caches. If you add all those archived it is sure to be well over the 1,000,000 cache mark. We certainly are doing our part to bolster the economy. Quote Link to comment

+The Leprechauns
Because geocaches get archived every day, it's entirely possible for more than one geocache to be the One Millionth Active Geocache. Quote Link to comment
+TexasGringo
I'll think it will be a 35mm container, under a lamp skirt, in a wall-mart parking lot. Quote Link to comment
+Minimike2
The cache ID number will ell you which is the one millionth cache. Let's see, base32 it would be GC . . . . never mind. Quote Link to comment

+jellis
Not really.. Many caches were started but not all got submitted. I have hit numbers by accident and came up with NOT PUBLISHED or NOT IN THE SYSTEM. And as someone said before the Main Page says ACTIVE caches. If you include inactive ones we are way over a million. Quote Link to comment
