+okie-wan
Inferno, When I was caving, years ago, we used to wear a small pack on our hips, something like a gas mask bag. They were made by a company called Lost Creek. You might want to check them out. Quote Link to comment

+TotemLake
I use Sea to Summit dry sacks. They come in various sizes and colors and help me to keep my items organized inside the pack. Quote Link to comment
ATMouse
I have dry bags that fold down and snap shut just like that. They work well. Quote Link to comment
+victorymike
It depends on what your intended use is. For keeping a camera and batteries or a cell phone safe and dry, but still have quick access to, I use something like this (Pelican or Otterbox cases): For backpacking I just use a rain cover on my pack...or if you expect to get sopping wet you could use a large dry pack like this (I have one of these but haven't used it yet): For keeping my sleeping bag and tent and even some clothes dry while on overnight kayaking trips I use this: I have a few of these Sea to Summit eVent dry sacks for backpacking...one for clothing and one for food items...the rest I put in my pack and use a pack cover to keep dry: And my pack cover: Quote Link to comment
+Wogus!
A cheaper option would be to use Dry Sacks. Any decently supplied outdoor store, like REI, would have them. Easier to use, and cheaper, than a waterproof backpack. Something like these maybe. Quote Link to comment
