+salmondan
Hosting an event (potluck/indoors)- would like to include a children's area. Anyone have any table activities/games that 8-12 year olds might like? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+Ms.Scrabbler
Do not give them anything that makes noise. We learned the hard way when Recorders were handed out in the middle of the evening. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
8 - 12 year olds should be enough into Geocaching so as to enjoy - Geocaching related activities . It the slightly younger crowd I would worry about. Coloring pages - kids love signal! Quote Link to comment
+Team Taran
Let's see: Create a log for a liar's cache! Allow them to use words or pictures. Camouflage film canisters or other small cache container. Provide lots of material and let them go to it. You can add prizes or simply have an art show. Design some easy versions of typical puzzle caches and let them solve them. If you are feeling creative allow them to enter their cords in a checker to see if they are right. Offer some hidden picture type puzzles with caches hidden in them. ( You can find some of these online. Look for ones that already include containers such as bottles, boxes, etc., if you aren't feeling creative.) Have a scavenger hunt. Some of these would work better than others depending on level of supervision but one or more of them should be feasible. Team Taran Quote Link to comment

It's that middle age I have trouble with- will be bringing assorted crafts and such for the wee ones. Love the idea about the puzzle caches. Let's see: Create a log for a liar's cache!
