Cartidge error issue - any ideas?

Just acquired a new Garmin Oregon 300 from a firm in the UK that specialises in mobile comms kit.

Trying out this Wherigo stuff against my closest live cache – Kintbury Kapers (GC19W7G)

I can do parts 1 and 2 of the puzzle but upon entering the details for part 3, the Wherigo app comes up with a cartridge error and closes.

The firmware on the Garmin is: v.3.01

The Wherigo player that is loaded is: v3.01

The wherigoengine is: v. 2.11

Could either the player or the engine be out of date, as looking at the cache listing for this cartridge it seems I am the only person to have reported suffering this issue.

In fact what version of the engine / player ought I to be using?

I believe that those are the correct versions.

I looked at the logs for the cartridge and it seems that several people have had the same problem as you are.

From another log I noticed that someone had a problem getting zones 1 and 3 to trigger, that could be due to the size of the zone. Sometimes if you happen to move out of the zone while answering a question, the cartridge will crash. About all I can suggest is to save the gae after each zone, and try again.

Oh that's a relief then.

Yes I noticed the erm zone size issue - given for zone 1 you've got to be about 15-20 feet from the location where the information is required. - Probably due to tree cover. Zone 3 is pretty shrouded with trees and there was a fair amount of wandering back and forth to get it to even trigger.

Mind you I did try 6 times on the trot to get the answers in to the cartridge. So I'll just need to really be patient with this one.

Thanks for the advice.
