+redsuspenders
I am leaving for training until Christmas, and I would like to disable the emails I get when someone finds my caches. I will have very limited internet time, and I really don't want my inbox full with 200 find messages. Is there a way to do this? Thanks Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
Nope. Perhaps you should find a caching buddy who would be willing to maintain your caches while you are gone. Just temporarily point your account to his email. Quote Link to comment
+SaltercreaseRangers
How about a temporary email account, just for geocaching, something like gmail or ymail which is web based and which can apply filters - switch back when you get home ? Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Since you are responsible for maintaining those caches - it is important that you receive those emails. If you will be unable to maintain them during training, then I would change you email address in your profile to the address of somebody that is willing to help out if there is a problem. Motorcycle_Mama
Yes, and if you were to disable them, how would you know when there is a problem with the cache? Quote Link to comment
jholly
Yes, and if you were to disable them, how would you know when there is a problem with the cache? I must be missing something here. If they are disabled does it matter if there is a problem? Why would it matter if a disabled cache had a problem? Of course you run the risk of a reviewer imposed archiving. Jim Quote Link to comment

Motorcycle_Mama
Quite. The OP asked "how do I disable emails ....". And I responded "if you were to disable them ..." responding with a pronoun directly correlating to the subject of the OP's question. Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
Yeah well, I wonder if the OP is going keep his caches maintained. That would be nice, eh? Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
The first thing would be to ask friend and have the emails sent to him and he can notify if there is a problem. You would have to change the account email to his. You may have to disable it until you get back if it has a problem but a couple of months disabled doesn't seem to raise a flag. Much longer does. Here's another thought. Are there any watchers of your cache? You can see the number in the upper right column. If there are post a note like this "Hey all you watchers. I am going to be away at training for the next three months with very little internet time available. I was wondering if any of you would let me change the email address on my account to yours so you would get the logs. Then you notify me if there is a problem and I can disable it if necessary. You already get the logs so it wouldn't be anything extra in your inbox. I will change the account email address back to mine upon return. Thanks if you can help. Quote Link to comment
