+Puppy Dawg
I used to put spoilers on my evil caches in <white</white> tags on my cachepages. It would fool some, but others would figure it out. Nowadays, all the paperless stuff just strips the formatting out of cache descriptions, leaving the text exposed. Also, pictures in cachepages are removed as well. A workaround is to place an img alt="text" tag withing the <img> tag, but it would be nice if pictures would just show up on the GPSrs. Bottom line:I want HTML to be sent into paperless GPSrs, and to show up on the wap page. Any chance of this happening? Link to comment
+niraD
First, paperless GPSrs would have to support HTML formatting. Then the GPX format would need to be updated to include the backwards compatible format for old GPSrs, plus the HTML format for newer GPSrs. FWIW, GeoBeagle on Android provides access to the unformatted GPX data, plus a link to the web page (which works only if you have a 'net connection, of course). Other geocaching apps may do something similar. Link to comment

The HTML is sent to the paperless devices; it is their drivers that strip the formatting because they are not able to display it. In other words, you're out of luck. Link to comment

Um, the HTML formatting in the long and short descriptions are in the GPX format already. No need for the format to be changed. Link to comment

+niraD
And now that I look, I notice that GeoBeagle does show some of the HTML formatting. Link to comment
