+thenerve
Newbie. Just started geocaching, we did a multicache and could not figure out how to input the second set of coordinates into the oregon 200 while out on the field? Quote Link to comment

You need to mark a new waypoint and then edit that waypoint. Then you can alter the coordinates as you want, can be a good thing to rename it as well. Quote Link to comment
+fegan
Easiest way to mark a waypoint on the Colorado is to hold down the Enter button (the center button on the Rock n Roller wheel) for a couple of seconds. I find that's a little easier than bringing up the shortcut menu and spinning the wheel to locate the correct shortcut. BTW, this probably should be in the GPS & Technology forum. +pater47
Go to waypoints, then mark waypoint, then edit location. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Yup - just not very intuitive at all - "mark" your current spot, "edit" it to where you wnat to go and then select that point and hit "goto". Quote Link to comment

Using the "Mark Waypoint" feature is one way, another is select "Where To", select "Coordinates", type in the coordinates you wish to enter, hit the little green checkmark, and the GoTo is automatic. Those coordinates will be saved/named "Coordinates" in your Waypoints, you can edit the name later if you wish to save them in a file (PC, MapSource, GSAK, EasyGPS, etc.). Bill Quote Link to comment

Bill That would be fine, except that there is no option to input Co-ordinates under 'Where to' on my Oregon 200, is yours different and if so how did you get this option? Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Main menu > Setup > Main Menu (another setting!) Gives you all the different buttons you can have on your Setup screen. You may have deleted/ never had Coordinates on the front screen to start with. Gives you all the different buttons you can have on your Setup screen. You may have deleted/ never had Coordinates on the front screen to start with. Alternatively, if you want the new waypoint to have the same name as the cache without having to manually edit the full text: Main menu > Geocaches > Show Description or Show Logs or Show Hint > Waypoint Icon (between the back arrow and "Go" > OK > Pencil icon (to edit) > (Change Name (optional, for instance, if you'd like to type add a stage number to the waypoint name > Checkmark icon >) Change Location > Enter coordinates > Checkmark icon > View Map > Go and you're on your way to the next stage. Qualifier: These steps work for Software Version 3.20, Firmware version 3.70. You can see which software/firmware you are running at Main Menu > Setup > About. Free updates are available from the Garmin website. Edited September 12, 2009 by Ladybug Kids Quote Link to comment
