+DENelson83 Posted August 29, 2009 Share Posted August 29, 2009 If you want to specify a cache size other than "other" or "unknown" for an event cache, here's a guideline I recommend: Micro: You want less than 20 people to come (e.g. your closest friends) Small: 20 to 99 people (e.g. cachers from the local area you want to meet) Medium: 100 to 499 people (e.g. cachers from far away you want to meet) Large: 500 people or more (a "mega-event") Is this ideal for you, or do you want to suggest your own ranges? I never noticed that you could actually select a size for an Event Cache. I actually had to do a quick experiment to verify you were right. Sounds like another BUG to fix (just like graying out the Members Only box for events). At first read I think this idea is equally unique and crazy. Events are open to ALL Geocachers, so the idea that you could publish a "Micro" event and only your closest friends are welcome is ridiculous. People do that all the time though. They even have a name for it. They're called PARTIES. And parties are not listed on the site. Quote Link to comment

Could be a micro attached under one of the tables in the restaurant, could be an ammo can stuck in the bushes at the park. Quote Link to comment

I see little chance of it catching on, but I could be wrong (it happened once before). Many cachers objected to the 'Mega Event' category as an artificial construct that shouldn't exist, and I'll bet many still do. Quote Link to comment
