Can the Oregon 550 Use 8Gb Card?

I know the Garmin Oregon can use a 4 Gb Micro SD card because I have one in mine, but I was just wondering if this was the largest one it could utilize or if it could also use an 8 Gb? I assume you could use an 8 Gb in it, but can it only address the first 4 gigs?

Use a 8GB card in the 400t, so it should work.

Now using the whole 8GB space is another matter.

Garmin's FAQ says that 4GB is the biggest that will work.

 

But if you already HAVE an 8GB, I don't see how it could hurt to TRY it.

FAQ at Garmin is way behind, if 4GB works, 8 and 16GB will also work.

Probably 32GB too.

8GB do work in the "old" colorado too.

All cards above 2GB must be SDHC (up to 32GB)

I have a 16gb one in my 550t, works great. Lots of room for pictures. It sees it as a full 16gb, not 4 or 8. It also worked in my 300 when I had it as well.

This just confirm that if it supports SDHC cards, all SDHC card will work. (up to 32GB)
