+Philmontosaurus Rex
Hi! This may have already been answered, and if so, just point me to the right thread. : ) Besides the weekly newsletter, what are some strategies for learning of new caches? I had a cache published and it was found in less than 24 hours. How? Any advice? Thanks, and God bless! : ) >+ Quote Link to comment

Motorcycle_Mama
Premium Members can get notifications emailed to them of newly published caches. Basic Members can click the "List Newest" link on their Profile Page. Check out this post from the "Read First: Frequently Asked Questions" thread pinned at the top of the "Getting Started" forum section. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...t&p=1084671 Edited August 11, 2009 by Motorcycle_Mama Quote Link to comment
+Gamaliel
Get a membership so you can get instant email notification. If you wait for the weekly email, you won't get any. Look into getting messages texted to your phone or sent to your PDA. Find out who the local FTF hounds are and how likely they are to grab an FTF. Figure out their territories and look for FTFs outside of their hunting grounds. Look for FTFs deeper in the woods or look for challenging puzzles no one else has solved. Quote Link to comment

Others have reported that gmail is faster and more reliable than hotmail. Depending on your area, it could be highly competitive. My suggestion is, play it if you're interested, but don't get too wound up over it. If you search the forums you can find a few threads where people take it a bit too seriously. Quote Link to comment
+mfamilee
Never leave your computer. Keep refreshing the newest caches in your area link 24/7. Have your car keys in hand & your geo-bag ready to go. And don't forget to wear your seatbelt! Quote Link to comment
+MountainRacer
If you're a free member, scan down the list of nearest unfound caches to your home coords. You can quickly develop an eye for the bright yellow "NEW" badge on new caches. With a little practice you can tell by the spacing whether or not it appears on the page, so you can choose whether or not you have to scroll down or skip to the next page at a glance. Sadly, yes, I did operate this way for quite a while. If you're a paying member, and you have Verizon, you can do one better than having new listings e-mailed to you: they can come as text messages! PM me if you want the procedure. Quote Link to comment

+Juan Durrer
Basic Members can click the "List Newest" link on their Profile Page. Can I have the coordinates or a hint as to where that link is cached? I can't find it anywhere on any page in my Profile. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+5 Caching Campers
If you're a paying member, and you have Verizon, you can do one better than having new listings e-mailed to you: they can come as text messages! PM me if you want the procedure. Virtually every carrier in the world has some kind of email to SMS gateway. One better on that is to get a smartphone (I use a BlackBerry, myself) and make sure that the email address you use on this site is one you retrieve on your phone. You can then use the phone's web browser to get the cache details... and if you have the right software on it (CacheBerry for the BB) and a GPS in the phone* you can then even use the phone to find the cache! * Verizon used to restrict the use of the in-phone GPS. Not sure if they still do. On my Sprint BB I can use CacheBerry to interface with the internal GPS to aid in finding caches. Quote Link to comment
