Tobias & Petronella Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I was wondering if others had a FTF goal in mind? For example one of my goals is to get a FTF on a cache for each letter of the alphabet. At this time I only need to get six letters: J, N, O, Q, Y, and Z. Another goal is to get a FTF for each of the 31 days that would make up a month. FTFs need not be done in the same month or in any order, just have at least one on a 1st of any month, at least one on any 2nd of any month and so on up to having at least one on the 31st of any month. At this time all I need is to get one on the 9th, 10th and 31st of any month. Again this is for those that like to go after FTFs and see them as a fun part of geocaching. Tobias Quote
Sioneva Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I love going after FTFs, if only people would stop getting there before me! My new goal, inspired by this thread, is to shoot anyone who reaches the cache first... Quote
fegan Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I'm currently going after a FTF each month for a year. I've got an 8 month streak going that started in December. I know a local cacher, who's been caching for years, who has one every month since he started caching...I can't match that as I missed a couple of months last year. Quote
Puppy Dawg Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My goal is to reach the 500 mark by the end of next year. Halfway there! Quote
bittsen Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Mine is to not take FTFs seriously. Look for them when I want to and ignore them the rest of the time. So far I have met my goal. Quote
TexasGringo Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I have a couple FTF's.....but only by accident. I just happened to get there before anyone else. Quote
WRASTRO Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Mine is to not take FTFs seriously. Look for them when I want to and ignore them the rest of the time. So far I have met my goal. Yep, I think this is a very healthy FTF philosophy. Quote
Puppy Dawg Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 (edited) Another of mine is to find all the FTFs that have gift cards for Java as the prize... Edited August 4, 2009 by GeoBigDawg Quote
Jumpin' Jack Cache Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My goal is to get the FTF on all of 'em. I lost out on that a long time ago so I don't have to worry any more. I feel much better now. Got 4 today. One of those gave me a better kick than all of the FTFs cause I got a big smile along with the smilie. Heck, I actually laughed out loud. Quote
Dj Storm Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My goal is a little bit different: to FTF caches that are out-of-the-beaten-path, caches that no other cacher is likely to hunt for. I then watch these caches to see how much time passes before the STF is logged. The average time between publishing and my FTF is 59 days. The average time between my FTF and the second find is 199 days, and rising. Out of my 12 FTF's, only 5 have been logged by the STF. Quote
va griz Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My goal is to be FTF on a cache that has the keys to a new Ferrari as a FTF prize. Not much luck so far, but I'm an optimist. Quote
Casting Crowns Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My goal as an FTF hound is to meet more cachers and have them join me in the madness. So far, I've teamed up with another group (we even cache together on FTF Fridays in the same vehicle and wait for them to "pop"). It's made us pretty good friends so far. Now, because of our desire to get FTF's, we've "re-invigorated" some past FTF hounds and encouraged some Noobs (two other teams and a single cacher) to join us. Not as a group, just in the hunt. Now we look forward to seeing each other throughout the week. Much more fun, IMO. Quote
JJTally Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My goal is to have more than the next guy, and to run off the road anyone in my way. Quote
Jeep_Dog Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Yeah, after 30 or so FTFs, my only goal was to try to be no higher than "STF" so that I would discontinue being "FTDNF." I've been "FTDNF" on a number of caches, and realized this was something that I desired to avoid. TFTFD! Quote
isuquinndog Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My goal is to get one. Haven't had one published close enough where I can leave work to get one yet. Quote
Knight2000 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 My goal is to make you think you are FTF because you couldn't find my tiny log hidden in the log book/sheet. Quote
MsMotorcycle Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 My personal FTF goal is to never be FTF. So far, I have met this goal. I love this game! Quote
