+zerocool248
Does anybody know if there are any trail maps that I can load on to my Garmin Oregon 300 for Ganaraska forest trail system (the west sector)? To tell you the truth I'm not really sure if they actually exist but I thought I would ask. Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment

I'm not aware of any maps available in a format for loading on a GPS, though you may try a site like EveryTrail or Motion Based (Garmin Connect) to see if there are any public GPS tracks available there. If you happen to find tracklog, or map data I'd like to know about it for the Ontario Trails Project, which is a map of Ontario Trails that works rather nicely on an Oregon. Quote Link to comment

Looks like a great spot to do some trail mapping. Not to mention placing a couple of new caches. Quote Link to comment

Bob Morphew
I made my own trail maps for the single-track in Ganaraska from tracklogs of previous dirt bike rides. They are transparent overlay maps that upload to my 60CSx and show the trails over CN, Topo, etc. If you don't have tracklogs, it's not too difficult to start with a PDF map, convert to a JPG, load into TrackMaker, calibrate, and then trace tracks over the trails. There's lots of documentation out there for making custom GPS maps from tracks. Bob Quote Link to comment
