+dawg6300
I'm heading from Los Angeles to Big Sur, and I'm looking for suggestions on some favorite caches along the way. I'm not looking for dash and caches, but caches that have either great views, or are clever and unusual. Quote Link to comment
+niraD
Gem of Big Sur is the one I remember most. Also, the museum/visitors center at Pygmy Mammoths of the Channel Islands NP was interesting, and I wish we could have visited Frenchy's Cove. (These are all virtual caches or EarthCaches.) These two however, are along your path: Morrow Rock Slide I DNF'd this one in Big Sur but it was well worth the visit. Quote Link to comment

+ventura_kids
Shell beach is a quick stop near Pismo. It's just a virtual, and barely long enough for a digital picture or 2. It's just a chance to get out of the car....run down and up some stairs.....and get back in the car. Quote Link to comment

If you have time for an Earthcache, you could stop at The Great Sand Dune at Thornhill Broome Beach, (GC19CHG). H1DS#6 - Watch the Wave, (GC1J4KJ) is a great place to stop, even if you don't climb down for the cache. A great virtual is Perched Birds, (GCG2JY). All of these are along the Coast Hwy, between Santa Monica and Oxnard. Quote Link to comment
+Puppy Dawg
Here's a few of mine: Don't you just hate it GC1WFQW, Girsh Cache GC17MCQ. Also I recommend any ones by $$tracker with holiday themes. RonFisk caches are always a nice treat. Quote Link to comment
