+Inmountains
I just got an email saying my Premium Membership is expired but my profile shows that I am paid through June 4, 2010. Is anyone else getting an email like this? Quote Link to comment
+HuggyFamily
I just received an email from noreply@geocaching.com advising that my premium membership had expired. The e-mail appears legitimate (i.e. not a phishing scam) but you never know. It includes a link to renew but the link is not valid (directs to localhost). Puzzled, I checked my profile and my membership is good through October of this year. Wondering if anybody else has seen this..... Here's the body of the message: ----------------------------------------------------- Hello from Groundspeak! This is just a quick note to let you know your Groundspeak Premium Membership for the username "HuggyFamily" has expired. You may continue to use Geocaching.com, Waymarking.com or Wherigo.com as a Basic Member, or create a new Premium Membership here: http://localhost:2020/Membership/default.aspx Thank you for supporting Groundspeak! jholly
I just got an email saying my Premium Membership is expired but my profile shows that I am paid through June 4, 2010. Is anyone else getting an email like this? Did it ask for personal information like a credit card number to "renew"? GS does send out notices if your on an auto-renew plan, not sure about non auto plans. It does not ask for any information. But it is asking for anything then it is a scam. Jim Quote Link to comment
jholly
That smells like a scam. A quick email to contact@geocaching.com will resolve the issue. Jim Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
That smells like a scam. A quick email to contact@geocaching.com will resolve the issue. If they have your e-mail and geocaching ID, might be a security breach somewhere. Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
I just merged HuggyFamily's thread into this one as it is the same topic. Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
Those of you who received that email are still Premium Members in good standing: please rest assured. There is no scam. There is no security breach. An email process was accidentally triggered during testing. Sorry! Now, where is that geocache? Quote Link to comment

+Inmountains
Thank you MissJenn. I figured there was an "automatic" email generator accidentally executed. Now for that cache, it is a magnetic 'eraser sized' cache, 20 foot UP the lamppost. Quote Link to comment
