Colorado eating caches

Recommended Posts

I've recently encountered a problem with the Colorado which may be related to beta firmware (2.94) but maybe it's more complicated.

It seems to happen if I add GPX files after the unit has already processed some previous ones. For example:

- Clean out \Garmin\GPX and subdirectories

- Add 100 caches in a GPX file in \Garmin\GPX

- Reboot Colorado, caches are there, \Garmin\GPX\Current contains current.gpx

- Add 50 more caches in a second GPX file in \Garmin\GPX

- Reboot Colorado, caches have gone, \Garmin\GPX\Current contains current.gpx of only 4K bytes approx

To get this to go away, I had to delete everything below \Garmin\GPX and reinstall 2.90 firmware. This downgrade has the added disadvantage of doing a factory reset of all the user data, so you lose your profiles, shortcuts, etc. I've been round this cycle twice now and it's a major pain not to be able to just drop an extra GPX file on to the unit.
