+RogFel
Is there anyway that I can convince someone that this app needs the landscape keyboard for us fat fingered people that try to do field notes while hiking? Quote Link to comment
+Allanon
Is there anyway that I can convince someone that this app needs the landscape keyboard for us fat fingered people that try to do field notes while hiking? Just one more reason I don't do field notes. However, if you feel you must, try one of these: http://www.tenonedesign.com/stylus.php Quote Link to comment
+Team JSAM
I agree here is a short term fix, open up an email type up your log, copy, open GC and paste it. Lots of steps but if you are going to write a big old log the extra steps would be worth it. Quote Link to comment

+pirateRACE
I've done without landscape for so long (thanks Apple) that I am completely used to portrait typing... I actually hate how it switches between the two in text/email mode! But I do see how it could be beneficial to the masses. Quote Link to comment
Skippermark
I'm the same as pirate. I find the landscape mode confuses my fingers, and I type the wrong thing, but it would make sense to have it in the GC app and be uniform with most other programs. Quote Link to comment

adds666
landscape should be standard by now Quote Link to comment
+metal-bijou
being able to rotate the lists etc would be good (not bothered about the keyboard but having the landscape keyboard would enable this to happen). Quote Link to comment
+CaptCosmic
Is there anyway that I can convince someone that this app needs the landscape keyboard for us fat fingered people that try to do field notes while hiking? To quote Obi Wan, "Use the force. Let it flow through you." I find that if I stop focusing on pressing specific keys that the iPhone does a very good job of figuring out what I meant to type. The only issue really is that it doesn't work if you are a lousy speller. Fortunately, my parents drilled spelling into me as a kid, so that's not much of a problem for me. John Quote Link to comment
Skippermark
On a related note, I've found that sending Josh $10 through PayPal gets things added quite quickly. Editing to say that this is a joke and that I'm just fooling around. Edited August 14, 2009 by Skippermark Quote Link to comment
+Jeepster++
I just realized that when you tap a key, if you if you hold your finger down, you can slide your finger around until you have the right key then release. Quote Link to comment
+CaptCosmic
I just realized that when you tap a key, if you if you hold your finger down, you can slide your finger around until you have the right key then release. Interesting technical tidbit for you: the iPhone software dynamically resizes the hit areas of the keys bases on some kind of probabilistic model of what keys you are more likely to hit next. That's why you don't have to be so exact in your typing on the keyboard: the phone is trying to figure out which keys make the most sense based on the context of what you are typing. Now back to our regular argument on the sutability of the iPhone GPS for placing caches. John Quote Link to comment
+Fast0ne
Landscape Text entry for logging caches on the road is my #1 Enhancement Request as well. Please count my vote! Why isn't that mandatory by apple anyway? Quote Link to comment
+JesandTodd
landscape should be standard by now Yup, it really should. And we've been asking for it FOREVER. please, with sugar on top...landscape. Quote Link to comment

Can't it just flip itself depending on how you're holding the phone? It does with virtually ever other iPhone app but this one. There is no landscape mode for the iPhone Geocaching app, but there should be! Yes, please, please, please add this feature! Quote Link to comment

Nitrin
I agree! This app is so amazing and the missing landscape mode is the only thing that make me prefer the website to the app when logging a cache. Please add this to your next update! I'm pretty sure it's a simple feature to add, but it would help a lot! Thanks! Quote Link to comment
