+PhantomWSO
I upgraded to IE 8.0 a few days ago and since then I have had considerable problems opening pages on the Geocaching.com website. My operating system is Windows XP. The problem is the the brower fails to open a page on Geocaching.com and tells me the browser is attempting to close and reopen the tab. Often the browser is successful in doing that, however, the link to Geocaching.com Google Maps on the cache page can not be opened at all. The browser tries to open that page twice and then quits. This has happened on every single cache page that I have tried. Below is a cut and paste of one of the error messages that is posted on my desktop after this happens. An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM. +sTeamTraen
I was about to say "Geocaching.com doesn't use Java" and then I noticed these in your list: 0x03160000 - 0x03180000 C:\Program Files\DeLorme\SendToGPS\PNPluginForIE.dll 0x4A900000 - 0x4AA21000 C:\Program Files\DeLorme\SendToGPS\icuin40.dll 0x03190000 - 0x03296000 C:\Program Files\DeLorme\SendToGPS\icuuc40.dll 0x4AD00000 - 0x4BA47000 C:\Program Files\DeLorme\SendToGPS\icudt40.dll 0x032A0000 - 0x032CE000 C:\Program Files\DeLorme\SendToGPS\dmSherpa.dll Do you have some way to force a reload, update, or unload of the DeLorme plugin? +cjhoffy
I am also having trouble loading maps on geocaching.com since I upgraded to IE 8.0. Most map links I click on start to load the page, but I get an error telling me Data Execution Prevention has closed the program. I have tried different setting for DEP. None of the settings seem to make a difference. Link to comment
+Arrow42
Uninstall the DeLorme software, reboot and try again. If that resolves the issue then submit a bug report to DeLorme. If that doesn't resolve the issue submit a bug report to Microsoft. Link to comment

+team mammoth
Did you try the compatibility feature for IE8? I've been thinking of upgrading too - but spend a bit of time on a few key sites (this one included) -- would like to know I have some options, especially given the mixed experience. Link to comment

Had no issues whatsoever, there is on some webpages that may be incompatible an icon at the top of the page a bit like a torn piece of paper. You can click on that and it reverts the setup to one acceptable to the website. Link to comment
