help with finding gpsr

I am trying to get into geocaching but have become very frustrated. After reading reviews and comments about gpsr features and talking to gpsr user at REI I bought the Garmin eTrex Vista HCx. I am not technically incapable but I'm finding this unit very hard to use and understand. I don't need to be paperless (I actually like print outs as I letterbox too and am used to this), I do want a unit that is very accurate ( I have little kids coming along and don't want to be searching too long). I can spend up to $400 including software but would like to stay at $300 or less. I did not buy the garmin topo map program. Instead I downloaded the free map for my state at gpsfileddepot.com. Does anyone have a suggestion. I need a very simple to understand gpsr that is very accurate. Please help as I am very frustrated and on the verge of just giving up. Thanks,

All the units work similar to the one you chose (and it's a good choice).

I took forever to learn my unit (garmin legend) when I started.

I suggest you head into the chat room and you can get help LIVE.

another good choice is to look up a nearby event in your area.

You can get up to speed much quicker if you go cache with someone who has the same type gps as you.
